Every Goose Chase cake is made completely from scratch, using simple, thoughtfully chosen ingredients. Butter, sugar, flour, eggs and whatever is inspiring me that season — all topped with a cloud-like Swiss meringue buttercream. I love creating flavors that feel balanced and special: never overly sweet, but always worth coming back for.

THE LONG WAY HERE
My love of pastry started long before The Goose Chase Cake Design. After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America in 2009, I spent the next several years working as a pastry chef in farm-to-table restaurants, high-end catering companies, and bakeries in Vermont, San Francisco, and New York City. Along the way, I fell more and more in love with the art of creating cakes for the moments people remember.
In 2018, I brought all of those experiences home and started The Goose Chase Cake Design. Today, I get to combine my love of pastry with my love of design, creating cakes that are a little unexpected, a little whimsical, and completely at home at the celebration they were made for.
After years of traveling and working in different kitchens, I've found my way back to the Mad River Valley, where I grew up. The landscape here, the seasons, the gardens, the food, and the people are an endless source of inspiration.
Not a brick and mortar bakery.
HOW IT WORKS
The Goose Chase Cake Design is not a brick and mortar bakery or retail space. This is a one-person business utilizing a shared kitchen space — cake and dessert orders are made fresh and are available Tuesday through Saturday only. All pick ups are at Lareau Farm, 46 Lareau Farm Rd. in Waitsfield, Vermont; wedding cake delivery is available upon request.
