Frequently Asked Questions

How do tastings work and why do you charge for them?

Tastings are a great way for us to sit down to envision exactly what you are looking for! You may choose three flavor combinations to try. This includes a cake, filling and frosting or a dessert item such as a macaron or tart (some items may not be available). This gives you a great idea of my flavors and style. I charge for tastings because it involves extra time and ingredients, and tastings aren’t required. Please note, I do not offer tastings during the busy summer season for any weddings more than 8 months away.

Do you offer delivery?

Simple answer yes! But not all items. As a one woman show, delivers take up a huge part of my day, especially on busy wedding weekends. Due to that I can only deliver to large weddings or parties and cannot make smaller (even local) deliveries most days.

Where do I pick up my special order cake or dessert?

The Goose Chase Cake Design works out of the American Flatbread kitchen in Waitsfield, Vermont and this is where all of my smaller orders get picked up. Upon your order, we will arrange a pick up date and time. At this time, there are no pickups available on Monday’s or Tuesday’s.

Can I order a small cake the day before? How far ahead should I order?

Please order as far in advance as possible, and minimally 72 hours in advance! To ensure I am selling only the freshest items with the freshest ingredients I do not pre bake any cakes or items. As a small cake designer, I pride myself on quality over quantity and only accept as many orders as I am able to create in my corner of a shared kitchen.

Do you always put flowers on special order cakes?

Flowers can be omitted if you don’t want any. However, decorating with flowers is one of my favorite things to do! When in season, I pull edible flowers from the garden to decorate cakes and desserts. If you are looking for certain flowers or want out-of-season flowers, there will be an extra fee.
